Around Wall Street, a little further north, old office buildings are being converted to luxury apartments, many` of these being large and "lofty". An area once deserted at night is rapidly becoming residential and lively. New restaurants and stores appear continually.
Tribeca, the Triangle Below Canal Street, north of the financial district, has experienced similar gentrification to SoHo over the last 10 years. An area once occupied by warehouses has become a bastion of loft-living, galleries and cafes.
